The Mission:

Steer the pirate ship using precise compass bearings to find the hidden gold! You must set the exact direction and angle to sail safely to the treasure.


Math Skills:

  • Compass Bearings: Navigating using North, South, East, and West standard directions.

  • Angles and Degrees: Understanding rotational angles (e.g., 90°, 180°, 270°, 360°) on a 360-degree compass.

  • Spatial Orientation: Combining a base direction with a degree offset.


How to Play:

  1. Read the mission board at the top for the target bearing and angle.

  2. Use the N, S, E, W buttons to set your ship's base direction.

  3. Adjust the Degree Slider to fine-tune the precise angle needed to reach the treasure chest.

  4. Watch the ship sail! If you hit the treasure, click the green Next Voyage button to start a new Level!
