Rounding Slingshot

2 min read

The Mission:

Master the art of rounding! Observe where a specific number lands on the number line, then round it up or down to the nearest target value.

Math Skills:

  • Rounding Numbers: Applying rounding rules (rounding up if past the midpoint, rounding down if below) to the nearest integer, decimal place, ten, or hundred.

  • Number Lines: Visualising exactly where a decimal or whole number sits between two bounds.

How to Play:

  1. Read the instruction at the bottom to see what you are rounding to (e.g., nearest integer, 1 decimal place, or nearest ten).

  2. Look at the slingshot's target ring on the number line to see the exact value.

  3. Type the correctly rounded number into the input box.

  4. Click the Check & Round! button. If correct, the slingshot will snap to the right bound, and confetti will fly!

(Check & Round!)
