Measurement Master: Error Bounds

The Mission:

Learn how precise measuring tools really are! Analyze rulers and beakers to determine the scale interval, the maximum absolute error, and the exact error limits of a measurement.


Math Skills:

  • Scale Interval: Finding the value of one minor tick mark on an instrument.

  • Maximum Absolute Error: Understanding the formula: MaxError=ScaleInterval÷2.

  • Upper & Lower Limits: Calculating the range of true values (Measurement±MaxError).


How to Play:

  1. Look at the measuring instrument (ruler, thermometer, or beaker) displayed in the visual panel.

  2. Complete the tasks step-by-step in the Steps Panel. First, type in the Scale Interval.

  3. If you type a wrong answer, a red Hint text will appear below the box to guide your math.

  4. Enter the Maximum Absolute Error, followed by the Upper and Lower Limits. Once all steps are completed, click the glowing Next button to measure a new object!

任務簡介:

學習測量工具究竟有多精確!分析間尺和燒杯,找出其刻度間距、最大絕對誤差,以及測量值的精確誤差極限。


數學技能:

  • 刻度間距 (Scale Interval): 找出儀器上一小格刻度所代表的數值。

  • 最大絕對誤差: 理解公式:最大絕對誤差=刻度間距÷2。

  • 上限與下限: 計算真實數值的範圍 (測量值±最大絕對誤差)。


玩法說明:

  1. 觀察視覺面板中顯示的測量儀器(間尺、溫度計或燒杯)。

  2. 「步驟面板」(Steps Panel) 中按部就班完成任務。首先,輸入刻度間距。

  3. 如果輸入了錯誤答案,輸入框下方會出現紅色的 「提示」(Hint) 文字來引導你計算。

  4. 輸入最大絕對誤差,接著輸入上限和下限。當所有步驟都正確完成後,點擊發光的 「下一題」(Next) 按鈕測量新物件!
