Vault Cracker: Cross Method

The Mission:

Crack the high-security vault by factoring quadratic equations! You must use the "Cross Method" to find the correct combination of numbers that unlocks the safe.


Math Skills:

  • Factorization: Breaking down quadratic equations (ax2+bx+c) into binomials.

  • Cross Multiplication: Multiplying factors diagonally and adding them to find the middle term.

  • Signed Numbers: Working with positive and negative integers to reach a specific sum.


How to Play:

  1. Look at the Target Equation glowing above the vault door.

  2. Enter your guessed factor numbers into the four input Slots (top-left, bottom-left, top-right, bottom-right).

  3. Click the large Lever button to test your numbers. The game will animate the lasers multiplying your numbers diagonally to show the result.

  4. If your center sum matches the target's middle term, the vault opens! If not, a retry button appears so you can change your numbers.

透過對二次方程式進行因式分解，來破解高度戒備的金庫！你必須使用「十字相乘法」找出能解鎖保險箱的正確數字組合。


數學技能:

  1. 觀察金庫門上方發光的 目標方程式 (Target Equation)。

  2. 將你猜測的因數輸入到四個 空格 (Slots) 中（左上、左下、右上、右下）。

  3. 點擊巨大的 「拉桿」(Lever) 按鈕來測試你的數字。遊戲會播放雷射動畫，將數字對角相乘並顯示結果。

  4. 如果中央的總和與目標的中間項吻合，金庫就會打開！如果不吻合，會出現重試按鈕讓你修改數字。
