Popstar Lifts: Directed Numbers

The Mission:

It's time for the concert of the year! As the stage director, you are in charge of the mechanical stage lifts. The popstar starts on a specific hidden floor, and the director yells a command to move Up or Down. Your mission is to calculate exactly which floor the popstar will land on using positive and negative numbers!


Math Skills:

  • Directed Numbers (Integers): Working with numbers above zero (positive) and below zero (negative).

  • Addition and Subtraction: Adding to go up, and subtracting to go down.

  • Vertical Number Lines: Visualizing floors of a building as a number line crossing through zero.


How to Play:

  1. Read the Command: Look at the screen to see the Starting Floor (e.g., Starts at -2) and the Movement Command (e.g., goes UP 5 floors).

  2. Calculate the Destination: Use mental math to find the final floor (-2 + 5 = 3).

  3. Enter & Go: Type the final floor number into the keypad and hit the GO button to move the lift.

巨星演唱會：升降舞台


任務簡介:

年度最盛大的演唱會要開始了！身為舞台總監，你負責控制機械升降舞台。巨星會從一個特定的隱藏樓層出發，而導演會下達「上升」或「下降」的指令。你的任務是運用正數和負數的概念，精準計算出巨星最後會停在哪一層樓！


數學技能:

  • 有向數 (Integers): 處理大於零（正數）和小於零（負數）的數字。

  • 加法與減法: 上升即是相加，下降即是相減。

  • 垂直數線: 將建築物的樓層視覺化為一條穿過零點的垂直數線。


玩法說明:

  1. 閱讀指令: 查看螢幕上的「起始樓層」（例如：從 -2 樓開始）以及「移動指令」（例如：向上 5 層）。

  2. 計算目的地: 在腦海中計算出最終的樓層號碼（-2 + 5 = 3）。

  3. 輸入並啟動: 在鍵盤上輸入最終的樓層號碼，然後按下 「啟動」(GO) 按鈕來移動升降台。
