Prime Cell Factorization

The Mission: 

Break down complex number cells into their purest form—Prime Numbers! You must continuously divide the floating number cells by their factor pairs until only unbreakable prime numbers remain.


Math Skills:

  • Prime Factorization: Breaking a composite number down into its prime factors using Factor Trees.

  • Factor Pairs: Identifying pairs of numbers that multiply together to reach a specific target.

  • Prime vs. Composite: Recognizing which numbers can be split and which cannot.


How to Play:

  1. Select a Cell: Click on any red, wiggling composite number cell.

  2. Split It: A menu of factor pairs will orbit the cell. Click a pair to physically split the cell into two smaller numbers.

  3. Find the Primes: Keep clicking and splitting until all the cells turn into glowing green prime numbers.

  4. Help Text: If you get stuck or forget what to do, look at the Help Text Instructions displayed at the top of the screen (e.g., "Click a floating pair to split!") to guide your next move.
